Motivational Interviewing (MI) sounds great on paper and sometimes us helpers struggle with when and how to use it with their clients. We host workshops throughout the year that review the relational and technical tools of MI and strategies to bring MI to life in your work.
Join us on the following dates:
Friday – March 8th and 22nd, 2024
10:00 am – 4:30 pm EST, with a 30-minute break for lunch
Registration also includes four, 60-minute, group consultation sessions with MI experts to be completed after the workshop to help attendees implement MI with their own clients.
Motivational Interviewing is for helpers of all kinds – not just clinicians – managers, consultants, coaches, and non-clinician helpers, including parents!. This workshop is for anyone looking to improve their communication. This workshop is for you.
Materials have been updated to reflect new content in the recently released 4th edition of the Motivational Interviewing textbook, including the new MI spirit language. We will cover MI basic relational skills (spirit and microskills – OARS (open-ended questions, affirmations, reflections, and summary statements) as well as dive into the MI technical skills (eliciting and reinforcing change talk)).
We will review MI tools that you can use and incorporate with other techniques you employ in your work. We will leverage a combination of real play, role play, and demonstrations to take your best MI knowledge and apply it. Participants are encouraged to bring real life examples.
At the CBT Center, our commitment to empowering lives through motivational interviewing has left a lasting impact on those we serve.
